At the 6/17/19 Town Council Meeting, we were hoping to see the council pass Resolution 2229 which would move the I-11 connector point on Hwy 93 five miles north of the entrance to Vista Royale. We were pleasantly surprised when they not only agreed to that, but then agreed to amend Resolution 2229 so that the connector point on Hwy 60 would be at mile marker 102 instead of 103.5. The letter that was sent to ADOT by the Town of Wickenburg specifically states that the Current Draft Tier 1 Alignment "is not in the best interest of the Town of Wickenburg". The NEW Route recommended by the Town of Wickenburg will help to align I-11 west of both Vista Royale and the Black Mountain Ranch subdivision. It also shows that the Town of Wickenburg leaders see the value in protecting home values, and the Western Lifestyle that Wickenburg is known for.
Our goal now is to get ADOT to understand the "Needs" of Vista Royale and the Town of Wickenburg, and push I-11 further west.
